Carolyn Weaver

Carolyn S Weaver, 57 year-old Afton (Cleora) resident, died Thursday December 10, 2009 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born November 20, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee to B. B. and Audrey (Turner) Brown. Carolyn grew up in Beaver, Oklahoma, attended college at Northeastern State College in Tahlequah and received her teaching degree. Carolyn married Joe Weaver on December 23, 1970 in Afton. She taught 26 years at Afton elementary school. She was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association and National Education Association. Carolyn like trail riding, camping, ranching, and being with her family and friends. The family includes: her husband Joe of the home, her step-mother that raised her, Doris Brown of Cleora, two children, Joseph and William Weaver both of Cleora; sisters, Patricia Hoover of Cleora, Marie Yocum of Pryor; brothers, Gary Brown of Bernice, Randall Brown of Cleora; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, and a brother. The funeral for Carolyn Weaver will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Luginbuel Chapel with Pastor David Pifer officiating. Interment will follow at the McLaughlin Cemetery near Cleora.
