Bridget Proulx

Geralyn Bridget Proulx, 53, of Vinita, passed away November 17, 2019 at Saint Francis Hospital, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Bridget was born October 2, 1966 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was a preemie and came home three days before Christmas. There she came to love her horses, playing with them, and showing Pony Hunter in Oklahoma, but her school work always came first.

Bridget had a terrible accident that left her an incomplete quadriplegic. Her plans and dreams were by-passed. She challenged everything she encountered with huge determination. Bridget graduated with her class in 1985. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Rogers State University. Bridget worked for Home of Hope in Vinita as a Bookkeeper for 15 years. She loved driving her equipped van which she obtained in 2000, when she also obtained her beloved service dog “Angus”. Angus and Bridget’s mother Marilyn have wonderful memories of her. She was her mother’s life.

Preceding Bridget in death is her father, Gerard Proulx.

Survivors include mother, Marilyn Proulx of Vinita; brothers, Michael Proulx and wife Janice of Jay, Dennis Proulx and wife Gloria of Alton Bay, New Hampshire; nieces, Rachel and Hanna Proulx; cousins, Michael D. Roche, Elizabeth Etlinger, Susan Spencer, Tom Roche and many other relatives and a host of friends.

A Rosary Service will be held Monday, December2, 2019 in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with The Reverend Michael Cashen officiating. Burial will be at the St. James Cemetery in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Donations may be sent to ASPCA or Saint Jude in memory of Bridget. Services are entrusted to Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
