Brent Gill, 44, of San Diego, California died Friday, July 18, 2008 at his home. He was born January 7, 1964 in Chillicothe, Iowa to Kenneth Gill and Ida Mae (Nix) Tanner. He had lived in California for ten years. In 1982 Brent was the Jay Public Schools' salutatorian. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and graduated from the University of Phoenix. Brent was employed in Human resources at the time of his death. He enjoyed Running and playing tennis. Brent was preceded in death by his mother in 1994 and an Uncle Leonard Nix in 1995. He is survived by his stepfather John Tanner, brother John Gill of Oklahoma City, sisters Shelley Barnwell and Carolee Tanner-Crispin of Jay, Oklahoma, aunts and uncles: Alfred Nix of Kansas, Oklahoma, Sarah Feather of Jay, Meda Nix of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Peggy Masters of Grove, Oklahoma, Melba Cates of Jay, Leo Nix of Van Buren, Arkansas and numerous other friends and family members. Funeral services for Brent Gill will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home chapel in Jay, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2008, with Reverend Richard Pickup and Reverend John Wayne Summerfield officiating. Interment will follow at Round Springs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be John Gill, Jamie Feather, Leo Nix, Sean Nix, Javier Crispin and Joshua Summerfield. Honorary Casketbearers will be Tabius Barnwell and Taylor Foster. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Sunday evening.
