Bobby Allensworth

Bob Allensworth, 70, of Afton, died Monday, November. 26, 2007 at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. Bob was born February 27, 1937 in Bristow, OK to Robert and Eva (Harkins) Allensworth. Bob graduated from Bristow High School, where he achieved honorable mention all-state honors in football. He attended the University of Oklahoma on a wrestling scholarship and later graduated from Central State University with a teaching certificate. He received a Master's Degree from Texas Christian University and did post graduate studies in chemical engineering at Oregon State University. He retired in 1995 from his work as a chemical engineer with the Alaska Lumber and Pulp Company in Sitka, Alaska. He was an active member of the Sitka, Alaska Elks Club. Bob enjoyed cooking, wood working and listening to country western music, especially Merle Haggard. He is survived by his wife; Betty, of the home, one son, Rafe Allensworth, of Sitka, Alaska, and one brother, Dr. E.W. Allensworth and his wife Reba, of Vinita, OK. Bob has 2 Grandchildren: Travis and Laib Allensworth of Juneau, Alaska, and 2 Cousins: Judy Morris of Shawnee, OK and Ann Dane of Oklahoma City, OK. Bob is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, OK. Pastor Jim Bradford will officiate, assisted by Carl Hamilton. Music will be provided by the Making Memories Trio. Arrangements are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, OK.
