ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK (918) 336-5225 - Billy V. "Bill" Burton, age 90 and longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, in the Heritage Villa Nursing Center, Bartlesville. Billy Van Burton was born on November 26, 1926 in Frederick, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Henry Burton and Flora Mae (Moon) Burton. Bill was raised in the Ochelata, Oklahoma area where he received his early education and graduated high school. He was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marine. In 1950, he and Ellen I. Crisp were united in marriage in Kansas. Later, they moved to the Bartlesville area (in 1959) from South Dakota. Bill was self-employed in the plumbing business in the Bartlesville area. Both he and Ellen were members of Virginia Ave. Baptist Church in Bartlesville for many years. Together, they raised two children, Lyle and Cathy. Bill was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather and his family will miss him dearly. Survivors include his son, Lyle Burton and his wife, Leila, of Bartlesville; his daughter, Cathy Louise Miller and her husband, Richard, of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ellen; one granddaughter, Marissa Sprowls; and one great-granddaughter, Asia Burton. Come and go visitation for Mr. Burton will be held on Sunday from 1:00-6:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. A graveside service is planned for Monday, April 3, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside. Pastor Wendell Abbott will officiate.
