Betty Jean Tagg, passed away at her home in Kenwood, OK on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the age of 68. Betty was born January 5, 1945 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of the late Sam Vann and Katie (Snell) Vann. After Betty attended school, she married Cornelius "Cornbread" Smith in the late 1950's and to this union six children were raised. On November 20, 1981 Betty married Charlie Tagg at the Steeley Church and to this union two children were raised. Betty enjoyed going to flea markets and listening to Elvis but most of all she loved to be with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children: Donlee Smith, Aaron Smith, and Carla June Smtih; and one granddaughter Timalee Pascual. She is survived by her husband Charlie Tagg of the home; children: Carl Smith of Eucha, OK, Samuel Smith, Sr. of Tahlequah, OK, Cornelle Smith of Durango, Mexico, Sellie Smith of the home, and Grata Smith of the home; one sister Velma Tagg of Kenwood, OK; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a great nephew Koy Marble who she helped raise; and numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Steeley Church in Kenwood, OK on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 2PM with Rev. Richard Soldier and Rev. Chris King, presiding. The burial will follow at the Euwasha Cemetery in Kenwood, OK. Visitation will start at 6PM on Thursday evening at the Steeley Church in Kenwood. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Betty's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Josh Leach, Tommy Ketcher, Wadie Foreman, Richard Tagg, Jr., Tommy O'Field, and Brad Phillips. Honorary casket bearers will be Kent Marble, Michael Harlin, JB Martin, and Jerry Tagg.
