Betty Lopez

Betty Jane (Hastings) Lopez, 84, Jay resident, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Integris Hospital in Grove, OK. She was born on August 29, 1928 in Jay, OK to her parents, William (Bill) Hastings and Janana (O'Field) Hastings. Betty graduated from the St. Margaret's school of Nursing in May 1948. She worked for General Motors as a production line worker for many years. She was extremely devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wilbur, Richard, Samuel, Johnny Lee; sister, Anna Marie; son, George Lopez III. She leaves many loving memories with her family, daughters, Lupe Warner, Jovita (Lavon) Kane, Bertha Benschoter; sisters, Maxine Godwin, Mary Ann Arneecher, Carole Hastings; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as many other loving relatives. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Mease and Joy Pendergraft for their compassionate care of Betty. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday June 6, 2013 at Duffield Cemetery in Jay. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay is entrusted will handling arrangements.
