Bette Hodges

Bette Jo Hodges, age 86, died on Sunday June 20, 2010 at Integris Grove General Hospital. The daughter of Jim and Minnie Lea (Pierce) Bishop, Bette was born on July 31, 1923 in Jay, Oklahoma. She was a lifetime resident of Jay, Oklahoma, Bette was a member of the First Baptist Church, The Garden Club, Eastern Star and volunteered for the blood mobile. She was united in marriage to Everett (Chick) Hodges who preceded Bette in death. Bette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chick Hodges, Great grandson Trevor Hodges, brothers & sisters. She is survived by her three children Jim Hodges of Austin, Texas, Susie (Hodges) Thornton of Noel, Missouri, and Sonny Hodges of Afton, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren,; Jeff Hodges, Jennifer Hodges, Suzanne Schmit, Mike Thornton, Matt Thornton, Melinda Fleming, Shawn Hodges, Curt Hodges, thirteen great-grandchildren; Josh Hodges, Jordan Hodges, Caleb Thornton, Kelsey Thornton, Emily Thornton, Zoe Thornton, Reid Schmit, Wade Schmit, Hanna Schmit, Parker Fleming, Brenna Fleming, Kaittyn Hodges, Colin Hodges. Bette is also survived by two sisters Oneta Carroll of Jay, Oklahoma and Ina Brooks of Springfield, Oregon. A visitation for family and friends will be held 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Jay, Oklahoma with Pastor Kirby Applegate officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Jeff Hodges, Shawn Hodges, Mike Thornton, Matt Thornton, Reid Schmit, and Tim Schmit. Interment will follow at the Duffield Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay, Oklahoma.
