Barbara Lou Krouse 89, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020. She was born in Alluwe, Oklahoma on September 22, 1931 to Glenwood and Oda Ray (Eagleson) McKay. She graduated for Alluwe High School with the class of 1949. On May 1, 1953 she married John B. Krouse Jr., in Alluwe, Oklahoma. They spent the next two year moving to different locations while John fulfilled his obligations to the U.S. Army. After the service they made their home in Nowata and were married for 65 years until his passing in 2018.

In addition to being a wife and mother Barbara held numerous positions in the business community. She completed her career by managing the Home Savings and Loan (Nowata Branch) until her retirement. She volunteered on the local election board, the historical society and participated in other civic events in her community and church. Barbara was raised in and attended the Church of God. Over the years she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a sweet and loving person who had a beautiful smile and an unending love for her family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son James Krouse.

She is survived by her sons Bradley Jordan and wife Beverly of Rogers, Arkansas and Johnny Krouse and wife Kelly of Nowata, Oklahoma, five grandchildren; Susan Jordan,  Bailey Krouse, Kayse Krouse, Joshua Krouse, Colby Krouse, two great grandchildren, two sisters; Glenna Maddux of Bartlesville, Jane McKay of Rogers, Arkansas; two nephews;  Richard and Douglas Maddux of Nowata.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the Relocated Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma, with Rev Craig Gavin officiating.
