Eighty-Seven-year-old Delaware resident Barbara Jean “Ginger” Allen passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was born May 25, 1933 in Mount Auburn, Illinois the daughter of Edward David Ginger and Virgie Lucille “Pryor” Ginger. She met the love of her life Jessie James Allen and they were married December 29, 1950.She traveled with Jesse on his pipeline job whenever it was possible. During her working years she was employed at Marcus Manufacturing, Commanco, waitressed at Ideal Café and worked on her rent houses. Barbara enjoyed cooking, canning, flowers and her yard. She loved to roller skate as a young person, was an avid bingo player and bowled for exercise. She most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Allen and two children Danny Allen and Lenora Robertson; her parents Edward and Vergie Ginger; three brothers Ray, Darrell, and Nial Ginger, Three sisters Alice Brown, Veda Rogers and Betty Hinds.
She is survived by six children David Allen, Billy Allen of Nowata; Steve Allen of Dewey, Betty Alspach of Nowata, Ok., Ginger Noblitt of Claremore and Linda Koscelny and Husband Kenny of Delaware. Barbara had twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. One brother Roy Ginger of Taylorville, Illinois and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A family visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Benjamin Funeral Service, Nowata, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 21, 2020, 2:00 pm at New Life Assembly of God Church with Pastor Kirk Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Ball Cemetery, Childers, Oklahoma.
